Built by Schichau Shipyard, Danzig, Germany, 1897. 10,552 gross tons; 550 (bp) feet long; 60 feet wide. Steam quadruple expansion engines, twin screw. Service speed 14 1/2 knots. 2,330 passengers (230 first class, 250 second class, 1,850 third class).

Built for North German Lloyd, German flag, in 1897 and named Bremen. Bremerhaven-New York, Austrlia and Mediterranean-New York service. Nearly lost in Great Hoboken Pier Fire on June 30, 1900. Laid-up 1914-18. Given as reparations to P&O Lines, British flag, in 1919. London-Australia service. Sold to Byron Steam Navigation Company, British flag, in 1921 and renamed Constantinople. Piraeus-Mediterranean ports-New York service. Renamed King Alexander in 1924. Also Piraeus-Mediterranean ports-New York service. Scrapped in Italy in 1929.
