Biscuits

Up

2 cups flour

2 tbsp sugar

2 tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 cup margarine

1 egg

2/3 cup milk

Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in margarine with pastry blender until the consistency of crumbs. Beat eggs slightly and add with milk. Stir only till dough follows fork around bowl. Turn out on floured board, knead for 1 minute. Pat out 1/2 inch thick; cut with 2 1/2  inch cutter or glass. Bake on ungreased cooking sheet in hot oven at 400F for 15 minutes.

Makes 12-14 biscuits.
