
Cook for 5 minutes, then cool:
1 Cup Water
2 Cups Raisins
Mix together the following and add the cooled raisins.
1 Cup Shortening
1 ¾ Cups White sugar
3 Eggs
2 Tsp. Vanilla
1 Tsp. Baking powder
4 Cups Flour
1 Tsp. Soda
1 Tsp. Salt
1 ½ Tsp. Cinnamon
¼ Tsp. Nutmeg
¼ Tsp. Allspice
¼ Tsp. Cloves
Drop by large spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 until deep brown. Cool thoroughly before storing.
